SciFi and Fantasy Art: Artemis' Troll

A picture of the troll from the first book in Eion Colfer's 'Artemis Fowl' series... It was way hard to make it follow all the descriptions, and I'm still not sure it did. He hard to have tusks that protruded way far forwards, and I had a really hard time making that work well...
Things I took from the book: the tusks are serated, he has dreadlocks, a huge, thick forehead plate, massive sharp claws, an ape-like upper body, sharp teeth (i think there are actually suppsed to be multiple rows of teeth, oh well...) and evil eyes. I'm not sure about the horns, i may have added that for fun. By the way, none of that is skin, it's just short fur in the smoother looking places.

All mechanical pencil, Not sure on the time frame, several hours to be sure. Actually, several hours of sketches just figuting out what i would make it look like, with the tusks and everything. I like it, although some quality was washed out in the scan (as always). This was drawn on 11x14 drawing paper, and took up the entire page.

Col! That is so good! I wish Eoin Colfer woulduse that as a model for the movies... That troll would look so awesome iif it were digitally animated...

i also think it looks good, but it looks too... well, smart. in the the books, they had the I.Q. of a rock, and wernt even capable of speach, but besides that, great pic!

COOL!!!! but wrong (sad face) the trolls look gorilla-ish this is more wolf-ish, also the tusks are in the mouth, and don't grow out of the chin. but other than that COOL!!!!!

yeah this looks more wolfish looks to smart hmm isnt what i thought it would look like but good drawing anyways!
